Digitalis Grapes Bee

New Black and White shots, made with a Zenit-11 manual camera. Charlie the Cat, moving down the garden and just lying around in the shade.
Digitalis and a Bee, normal 50mm lens fstop 8 speed at 1/250. Extreme closeup of grapes, bellows set used, my first experiment with a chestpod and bellows.
Last shot, bee in flight, 1/250 with fstop 8.

Onions

The first of a line of new Black and white shots, made with two completely different cameras.

The Catshot was made with a Zorki 1 Rangefinder from 1955 with an aperture of 3.5 with a speed of 1/50th of a second (no typo). The lens was an Industar-22 50mm.

The Onionshot was made with a Nikon 950 2.11 Megapixel digital camera set to black and white mode, aperture 8 and a speed of 1/100th of a second. The lens was set to 50mm. The camera was used in Normal mode which ment a picure size of 1600 by 1200 pixels. I downsized it for ease of viewing

All of these Black and White photos were made with an Zenit-E manual SLR and with several filters. Film used was Illford SFX 200 iso. Lens a 58 mm Helios 44-2 and a Vivitar 135 mm.
They were made a couple of years back when I really didn't know what I was doing with filters and other stuff. So you could call these, experiments.
I loved fading backgrounds. Still do, nice portretsthots and stuff, fade away that distracting background and so on.
So heres the result, the most of the objects focused on are sharp, the rest is not. Some are nice but I wouldn't call any of them great. The first one is a pear or apple tree with blossoms. Second is me, shot was made with the reflection of a window. So it's a really weird shot. Third is a dark still-live. Well... it is now, I forgot to take the filter in account when I made the shot. So it's dark, but turned out nice.
The fourth is hazy. It's not my fault it was misty and twilight was coming. The black dots are actually ducks and other birds.

Cats, allways a nice subject. The first is one made when Charlie was sleeping the sleep of the innocent, (no filters used). The second and third were made with an orange filter. Don't ask me why I was just experimenting. Someone mentioned to me that a orange filter would make a warmer picture. Both were made upclose, which explains why his nose is not completly in focus in the third shot. The fourth was made with a yellow filter but since my focussing technique was not really up to it it's not a really sharp shot. For some reason I allways shot with high speed then and the lens full open.
I know better now....
Last shot finally a good one, head nice and sharp and so are Charlies claws. Background nicely faded. I'm learning....
